Any knitters, crocheters or weavers are invited to get involved in a project involving Carbost Playpark.

The Playpark is set to be the location for a yarnbombing installation.

Yarnbombing, a contemporary form of street art, is a non-invasive way to add colour, humour and art to public environments.

Knitting and crochet workshops will be run over the summer, including Knit and Natter groups, Pub knitters and events to connect experts with beginners at Made In Minginish every Wednesday from 2-4pm.

The week-long installation will be put in place during August/September.

The knitted items will be stitched together to cover as much of the playpark as possible, so scarves (long rectangles), a woolly hat for the spinner, or bunting for the fence are all welcome!

Visitors to Carbost who want their woolly creations to be included in the installation are asked to post their creations to: Minginish Community Hall, Portnalong, Carbost IV27 8SL

The event will culminate in week-long installation involving school and community groups, as well as visitors to the island, and a Great Big Picnic once it is all set up.

More information cam be found on their website and Facebook page.
