The skye times mobile

EE have submitted a planning application to the Highland Council to install a telecommunications apparatus near the Fairy Pools at Glenbrittle.

The proposed works include the installation of a 15m high telegraph pole, two antennas, two transmission dishes, one satellite dish and two equipment cabinets.  They state that, as part of their continued network improvement programme, there is a specific requirement for a radio base station at this location to provide ESN and 4G coverage to the surrounding area.

The proposed mast would be located just off the existing forestry access track, approximately 150m from the roadside.  The company state that views of the 15m mast would be screened by the woodland and views of the tower would be limited to the antennas.

In the design statement submitted, the company state that the proposal has been designed with the aim of achieving a balance between minimising visual impact and achieving technical requirements for EE.
