Howdens in Portree have donated £500 to local charity, Lucky2BHere.

The staff of the Portree depot have donated £17,000 to local charities since the store opened in September 2004.

Local store manager, Karl Morland, said: "Lucky2Bhere is a charity everyone in the depot feels strongly about.  We wanted to donate to show our support to a truly essential local charity providing a life saving service to Skye and throughout Scotland."

Lucky2Bhere charity founder, Ross Cowie, added: "At Lucky2Bhere we keep being amazed at the generosity of both individuals and businesses.  It's donations like this that allow us to continue the work that we are doing, particularly in education."
