A dance teacher from down under could turn out to be a big hit on Skye.
For the founder and director of the Wagana Aboriginal Dancers, Jo Clancy is coming to Portree after teaming up with Skyedace.
Jo is a descendant of the Wiradjuri people of Western NSW in Australia and has been teaching and performing for over 25 years.
She said: "Aboriginal dance is derived and inspired by everything around us. The earth, the sky, the animals and birds, stories passed down from generation to generation for tens of thousands of years. The movement that comes when I dance feels like an imprint. It’s like following a map that I unconsciously know.
"Imagine being a hunter or being hunted; how do you move without being seen, without being heard? "
Participants will warm up to the rhythm of the clap sticks, make tracks across the floor and explore contemporary Aboriginal dance.
The event takes place Saturday 1st April at the Fingal Centre, Portree
