The skye times mobile

A Dutch visitor’s last day on Skye is probably one she will wish to forget.

Skye Mountain Rescue had to be called out over the week-end when the woman, out walking with his husband on the Quiraing, slipped on rubble and broke her ankle.

The rescue team spent several hours in order to stretcher the injured woman down to the roadside from where she was taken to Broadford Hospital

Skye Mountain Rescue leader, Gerry Ackroyd, said: “It was the last day of the couple’s holiday and rather an unfortunate way for it to end.”
