Skye and Lochalsh Archive Centre are running another course on ‘Researching Your World War 1 Ancestors’ as part of High Life Highland’s You Time programme.

The classes will be held at 10:30-12:30 on Wednesday 22 February and Wednesday 1 March at the Skye and Lochalsh Archive Centre in Portree.

The first class (22 February) will be presented by Graham Ross, author of the Roll of Honour for Skye and Lochalsh.  Graham will introduce some of the sources he used while compiling his work on the local casualties of war.

In the second class (1 March) archive staff will examine further source material available for researching your World War 1 ancestors, including material on those who survived the war.

There will be an opportunity to look at the World War 1 Exhibition currently running at the archive centre and also to examine any World War 1 photographs or memorabilia you may have at home.
