The search for missing Dutch national Cornelius Van Der Wetering looks to have ended tragically.
Police say that around 3.30pm on Thursday (December 5) emergency services were alerted by a member of the public to a man’s body in a wooded area near the village of Tomich, Inverness-shire.
Officers attended and located the body of a man in his fifties. There are no suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
Officers are liaising with the family of Mr Van Der Wetering who Police were keen to trace to confirm his wellbeing.
Police alerted locals in the Lochalsh area as they thought that he might be making for the district. They have know thanked members of the public for their response to the earlier appeal to help trace Mr Van Der Wetering
