Cuillin FM has managed to repair its lighting damage mast, just before the latest stormy  weather came along.

After weeks of being off the air on 102.7FM the community station is now back broadcasting on the frequency, albeit not at full strength just yet.

Announcing the resumption of normal services, the station said: "It really is the most wonderful time of the year! We're so pleased to announce that our engineers managed to beat the winds and get up our main mast at Skriaig yesterday to fit a replacement antenna to replace our lightning-damaged one.

"We're now back on air on 102.7FM around most of the areas of Skye and Lochalsh which used to receive the signal.

"We still have some work to do to get back up to full power which we'll hopefully do in the first part of 2017. Thanks everyone for your patience.

"If you want to let us know whether or not you can pick us up in the comments, that would be really useful."
